Villa Elfkullen

Villa Elfkullen byggdes av Ture Malmgren 1887 som en sommarvilla
men byggdes senare till och 1902 blev det ett åretrunthus.
Ture hade under många år rest runt i världen och
naturligtvis fått inspiration till många detaljer i
huset. Villan har massor av fantasifulla detaljer såsom
lönnfack, vindbrygga, torn och målningar.
Ture Malmgren dog 1922 men hans änka bodde kvar i villan fram
till början av 40-talet. Villan fick sedan förfalla under
ett antal år men föreningen ”Villa Elfkullens
Bevarande” påbörjade en renovation av huset
1981.
Under juli till september är det öppet söndagar och
besökare kan fika och lyssna till vissångare. Övrig
tid kan grupper boka guidning av Villa Elfkullen.
Ture Malmgren grundade tidningen Bohuslänningen 1887.

Villa Elfkullen was built 1887 by Ture Malmgren. From the beginning
it was just a summer house, but in 1902 it was rebuilt, to an all
year round house. Ture had during many years travelled around the
world, which gave him a lot of inspiration to many details in the
house. The house is full of imaginative details, such as a
drawbridge, secret compartments, towers and paintings.
Ture Malmgren died in 1922 but his widow lived in the house until
the early 40´s, the house was then left to decay for many
years. In 1981 the association “Villa Elfkullens
Bevarande” began to renovate the house.
During July to September the house is open on Sundays and visitors
can have some coffee and listen to ballad-singers. At other times
groups can book guided tours of the house.
Ture Malmgren founded the newspaper Bohuslänningen.
