Great view of Red Mountain (North) and Tobacco Root range and Whitehall valley (East) from cache site at 7250' elevation. Asta-La Vista Cache is first up the trail, so continue for a little less than a mile after.
Park at top of hill on old highway 2 scenic route between Butte and Whitehall. Look for CDT (Continental Divide Trail) sign.
Have lunch with the family on a high point of the famous Continental Divide Trail. After you find the ammo can cache, wander the area for the great views and rock formations. Cache is about 2 miles from parking.
