Looks like our timing is off and It’s time to say goodbye to this cache.

Since I haven't heard back, I am going to assume that your priorities have changed and you’ve gone in a different direction.

Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Thanks a MILLION for all you have done, Glenn

Geocache Description:

Please drive slowly through the church parking lot and park near the softball field. There are no trails, you will climb a hill, then you will find some pretty heavy undergrowth. Should be fun. Stage one will hold all the swag, stage 2 is a micro and a log book. Stage one does not require you to wade into the bushes and no climbing is necessary at stage 2.

****Both stages of this cache are on church property with the permission of Canaan Baptist Church****

There are so many stories to tell about my friend Chuck. Maybe I will have a chance to impart them all to you, but this is how it got started -

Chuck and I sort of happened upon one another in the Strawberry Creek Nature Area. It was obvious we had both sought the woods for a solitary afternoon of reflection, so to bump into one another on a quiet leg of Owl Bend was quite a shock. He scratched the fur on top of his head for a moment, I just kind of stood there, then we both tried to explain ourselves.

Chuck said that he was just out to enjoy the warm weather. I told him, "me too," but when he saw the GPS in my coat pocket his little ears perked up.

"I have a deal for you" he said.

Over the next several hours he told me all kinds of stories about the places he's been and the harrowing adventures he has had. It is amazing how far his tiny paws had taken him - virtually all over the St. Louis area - and how adept he seemed to be at hiding things.

He said he didn't have internet access in his forest home, and being an animal, he couldn't get a library card.

"Could you log all these hides for me?" He asked.
"How can I refuse?" I said. "It sounds like you have done all the work already. All I have to do is type up the cache pages, right?" He set me straight.

"Well, not quite. You see, my cousin's got a job for me in a petting zoo over in Indiana. I have to get there by the end of the week, and hitchiking is too dangerous for me, so I have to get moving."

I didn't get it right away, so he came right out and explained to me what that meant.

"I don't have time to show you where they all are. Just remember all the stories I told you, and you will work it out. Adios."

And he went scampering off, just like that. I just stood there for a while, trying to decide if I was dreaming this all up. Eventually, I decided to look for one of Chuck's caches in order to validate my experience; all I had to do was follow the story.

Chuck's Story #1 -

- Do you have a favorite tree? I do. It's not much to most, but I have found it to be quite a home in hard times. You can find it behind Canaan Baptist Church, up on the hill. But, its not THAT tree. Everyone likes the huge Sycamore standing all by itself over the softball field. And I shouldn't slight it, it is impressive and I hang out there some, but my tree is in the woods just to the east. I spent a night once in that tree when I really needed a place to rest. It is a spot I won't ever forget, and I hope you enjoy it.

3/9/14 I checked on both stages. The second stage needs repairs so I re-hid it as a camo cache for now. Still should be pretty difficult. I used the same tree but its dead and bark is coming off now. Also the plumbers pile mentioned in the hint is mostly cleaned up now
