Easy terrain but muddy at times. Note: after this cache turn left then right into Priory Lane. Walk down the road until you find the footpath sign. Suggest following the path by the field to avoid stinging nettles.
Binsted Bash
A series of 20 caches on a circular walk each containing a clue to enable you to find 2 Bonuses caches which themselves contain a further clue to find a Bonus Bonus cache.
Binsted is a small village situated south of the A27. The extensive woods include a variety of wildlife and wild flowers. It is a very underused wood so is begging for a walk through it.
There are 4 stiles to cross so should be reasonably dog friendly. At the time of placing these caches the paths were muddy but not impassable. Occasionally there are detours around the more muddy areas. There are however one or two areas where the farmer has ploughed the footpaths and has grown some crops. Although people have recreated these footpaths, this caused us some problems as the crops were waist high and after the recent heavy rain caused us to get very wet. A spare pair of socks and trousers could be useful after wet weather. Walking boots or wellies are definitely recommended.
Tree cover may cause some GPSr problems so we have tried to make the clues as helpful as possible giving exact details of cache locations. The series is not intended to be difficult.
The caches are a variety of micros, large micros and small. The bonus caches are regular.
The majority of caches though are large micros covered in black gaffer tape which need to be screwed up tightly after your visit.
The complete walk should take about 4 hours. You could also take in Ron and Alma's Diamond Anniversary, Roman Villa – Walberton,Old Oak Tree and Ponds Dewponds and Lakes of
Sussex #36 which are only a short way from our path.
Parking at the suggested coordinates are recommended.
