northernpenguin: It's been a couple weeks now since the event and it's time to archive the listing. I'm glad everyone had a fun time, even with the weather that was reminiscent of BFL 1.

I'm already looking forward to BFL 4 - hope to see you all again next year!

BFL BOOT CAMP III - LUMENVERSITY
Welcome to the third annual BFL Boot Camp! The event marks the end of Daylight Savings Time, and the return to long winter nights. Some cachers stop caching as the nights grow long. Others embrace it. Our group is known as The Order of the BFL.

The Mission


Come to the pub event, and you'll meet cachers from all over the Greater Toronto Area that range from seasoned night cachers to absolute beginners. Compare lighting equipment, share night caching stories, and learn what it takes to go out caching when the sun goes down.

The Mess Hall


The last two years we completely overloaded the pub so we're trying something different this year. THIS pub can hold 35 people. Please see the event website for additional information. The event runs from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with an optional activity that runs to 4:00 am. You must be at THIS pub between 7:00 and 9:00 to log that you attended THIS event.

The "Alpha" pub is known as The Shepherd's Crook in downtown Georgetown. The food is Irish pub style, and there is ample parking around the downtown area.

The Optional Activity


There is an optional activity nearby for those of you that want to try out this night caching thing. You will want to have flashlights and be dressed appropriately for the weather. The activity runs until 4:00 AM. Information will be available at the pub. For advance information about the activity, please see the Boot Camp Web Page

Important: If you plan to participate in the Optional Activity bring a flashlight and dress appropriately for the weather.
