Geocache Description:

Cache is on a peninsula in Lake Yankton. It is possible to get to the cache by walking (you will get wet!), however, it is much easier if you use a boat (canoe, kayak, etc). This is an "electric motor only" lake, so if you use a boat keep that in mind. The terrain and difficulty levels may very greatly.. This cache is easy by boat, but more difficult if you hike!

Lake Yankton (as we call it) actually is constantly running water from the Lewis & Clark lake, above the dam, to the Missouri river, below the dam. If you look around you will see drain "tubes" on the very west side of the lake, those come from the Lewis & Clark lake, then if you travel to the very southeast corner of Lake Yankton you will find a large drain in the water, that leads to the "bubble" and flows into the Missouri. This lake has awesome fishing, especially Crappie and Bass. The cache is an ammo can with several items in it. Bring a camera and if you have time bring a fishing pole, great bass fishing near the cache location. You will see lots of wildlife so stay awhile and enjoy it! Please pick up any trash you bring! Hunters may be present during hunting seasons so dress and act accordingly.
