Park at 39* 38.240 N, 105* 19.694 W. Take the deer trails down to the cache. This cache is in honor of my friend and caching partner, Manfred. He came to America from Austria when he was very young. His classmates teased him about the cartoon on Captain Kangaroo called Tom Terrific and his sidekick, Mighty Manfred the Wonder Dog. Since he did not speak any English he just laughed right along with them. He grew up in America as 'Fred' and now goes by either name. Tom Terrific and Mighty Manfred the Wonder Dog was a 5-minute cartoon series produced just for Captain Kangaroo between 1957-1959. Re-runs ran into the mid-60s. Cache is a camo-ed lock-n-lock with a logbook and no writing utensil. Don't forget to hike up to the SE to see the fantastic view of the lake. Original contents: pedometer, bounce ball, eraser, flag sticker, & beanie baby.
