Watch out for runner and birdwatcher muggles, especially early in the morning. Parking is at N 41 19.588 W 072 54.510. Trailhead (Cross Trail) is next to the Orange St. Bridge. Please observe all parking signs and CITO to keep this area in good shape.
Cache is regular green ammo can. If you park at the above coordinates, go down the large stone steps to the winding trail. When the trail straightens out and starts looking overgrown with tree roots look for a bunch of angled broken trees and stumps near the trail, then trust your geosense to guide you in. Cache is located about 60 feet off the main path. Watch out for geocachers best friends: poison ivy and ticks. No major bushwacking is necessary.
History: "Dating back to the eighteenth century, this area [College Woods] was used by Yale College for firewood harvesting. Many of the large oaks were planted during that period. In 1877, the land was donated to the city and is now part of East Rock Park."
