Geocache Description:

Springvale

With all the caches in Spingvale Park, we figured some of you might want a little history of how it came into existance.

Springvale Park is pretty new.  In 1995, approximately 107 acres of the park were aquired by tax forfeit.  Shortly after that it was decided to create a county park and plans for developement were put into motion.

In May of 1999, approximately 62 additional acres were purchased from Tom & Adrienne Wolcyn.

In September of 2000, an additional 40 acres (8 acres are currently in a life estate and still privately owned) were purchased from Ron & Anita Teetzel.

Recent improvements include a parking lot, a paved trail to an observation point, and native plants restoration.

Have fun and enjoy the park!!!
