“INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST”

The Indiana Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic sites and cemeteries built by Hoosier Pioneers. In four years, the quest has grown to over 600 caches hidden in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Ontario and the hiders have grown to over forty cacher teams. Thousands of cacher teams have logged over 50,000 finds on this series.

"COOKS CHAPEL"

Welcome to COOK'S CHAPEL, Koskiusco County, Indiana.

You may find a modern monument for John Porter here with the inscription "(Civil War Soldier)". With no unit listed, it is hard to identify this man as there were 25 John Porters who served in Indiana Regiments. Since he died in 1864, it's possible he was killed in the war.

As seasoned ISQ seekers already know, it behooves you to read the cache page for clues and additional requirements. To find this cache:

The cache is not at the coordinates listed above, but is offset. Go to ground zero, then GO DUE WEST FROM EAST until you can go no further, then look around for a pill bottle

It is not uncommon to see the steeple bells from these old churches removed to the grounds due to structural difficulties--these things are heavy!
