Myers Slough
Summer has come back to the interior of Alaska! Now that PedalPushin (aka PaddlePullin) has a new hobby, a cache just needed to be placed within the banks of the Chena River. This cache will be a bit more difficult to access during the summer months as Myers Slough will require a canoe, kayak, or boat to access. In winter a ski up the river might do although use extreme caution on any frozen river. Please do not think about swimming to the island as the water tends to be quite cold, a current is present, and that takes some of the fun out of the hunt. Besides, private property lines both sides of the river and folks tend to be a bit protective of their river front property. The cache is placed on state land as waterways belong to the state.
While placing this cache we were treated to muskrat, beaver, ducks, some passing geese and the peacefulness of the river. Several travel bugs are making their Alaskan debut in this cache and would like to do some traveling if possible.
