The FAB series is set along parts of the Ribble link and
Lancaster canal. It is a gentle circular walk of about 5 miles so
you’ll need to allow about 3 hours to complete it in one
go.
The Ribble Link is Britain's newest inland waterway, the
four-mile Millennium Ribble Link runs around the outskirts of
Preston and flows into the River Ribble, which connects with the
Leeds & Liverpool Canal’s Rufford Branch. Opened in 2002
the Link is tidal, which governs its operating times. It contains
nine locks :- seven canal, one river and one sea lock.
Thunderbirds was the 5th Supermarionation series created by
Gerry and Sylvia Anderson in the mid 1960s. The series followed the
adventures of International Rescue, an organisation created to help
those in grave danger using technically advanced equipment and
machinery.
The mission is to capture the villain known as The Hood by
finding 10 character Micros (FAB 1 to FAB 10) and obtain a code
from each of them. Then you need to seek out FAB 11 - Brains to
find out how to use the codes to find the co-ordinates for FAB
Final – The Hood. It is important to know what code came from
what character. The code can be found on the first page of the log
books.
Good Luck and we hope you enjoy the
mission.
Scott Tracy is the 2nd character in the series. He is the eldest
of the Tracy boys. Scott's main job is to fly Thunderbird 1, which
means that as the first man to arrive on the disaster scene it's
his responsibility to assess the situation and decide on which
rescue craft to use.
If you are coming from F.A.B. 1 for this cache please use
pelican crossing (see waypoint) to cross the busy main road, then
continue down the towpath.
From this cache you can continue down the park path to the next
road bridge (nicest walk), then cross over the next road bridge to
get back onto the towpath, or you could double back to the towpath.
