Legal Stuff

This cache is in no way a commercial cache. I am not endorsing, advocating, or recommending the purchase or renting of any video game or video game console. Also, I am not promoting the visitation or patronage of any establishment.

An Apology

My upfront apologizes to those folks in the crowd who may never get this cache because the subject matter is pretty particular and, on some level, rather juvenile.

History Of This Cache

On May 10 of 2008 I attended the "Abiectio & Itcomagic 1K Celebration" Event cache (GC1BGY8). At this luncheon I had an opportunity to speak at length with DocJr. In that time we discussed a couple of our favorite video-games: Guitar Hero & Rock Band. From that conversation this cache was born. Also, this cache is a part of the Shelby County Mega Multi.

The Puzzle

Answer the following questions and solve for the Formula below to obtain the correct information to gain access to the cache. The questions are outlined: Location of song (Particular console - if required), instrument used, level of play, song, question.

A) Rock Band 3 DLC, Guitar, Easy, "We Built This City": How many times does the RED note appear in the song?
1) 63=34
2) 64=67
3) 65=91
4) 66=88

B) Guitar Hero I (Playstation), Guitar, Medium, "Ziggy Stardust": What color(s) note(s) appear 30 note-rows into the song?
1) Green=104
2) Red=212
3) Red & Yellow=488
4) Blue=364

C) Guitar Hero 5, Bass, Hard, "Nearly Lost You": Assuming you have played flawlessly up to the point of your first Star Note(s), what color is the first Star Note(s)?
1) Green, Red, & Yellow=9
2) Red=7
3) Yellow & Orange=3
4) Orange=6

D) Band Hero, Microphone (Karaoke Setting), Medium, "Every Rose Has It's Thorn": Assuming you have completed every phrase-run with 'Excellent', after what word in the song do you earn your Third Star?
1) Song=2078
2) Thorn=3002
3) Pain=4012
4) Night=5571

E) LEGO Rock Band, Drums, Medium, "Ghostbusters" [Short Song Mode ON]: What score range will you get for playing the song flawlessly without any 'drum fills'?
1) 30,000-35,000=345
2) 35,000-40,000=200
3) 40,000-45,000=329
4) 45,000-50,000=215

F) Guitar Hero: Van Halen was dedicated to whom? The number of letters in their last name is your answer.

The Formula

You will have to do some basic math in order to obtain the six digit number you will need to access the cache container.
First, take all of the numbers in your answers and add them together. Then, take that total and square it. Take that total and subtract 7063734. That is your answer.

You can verify your answer by plugging it into EVINCE using the coordinates listed below. The numbers in parenthesis is your answer from left to right.

N35° 06.(1)(2)(3)
W89° 56.(4)(5)(6)

Remember, this check is for information needed, and not new coordinates.

The Cache

Once you have the correct information, proceed ten feet to the East of the given coordinates and you will find the container. The container is accessible between the hours of 10am-6pm, Monday-Saturday (12p-5p on Sundays in October). Obviously, there is a tiny chance that this window changes slightly from time-to-time, but I will make notes when these foreseeable circumstances occur.
