From the roundabout at the intersection of 5th and Fairview in
eastern Carson City, travel east 100 yards to the top of the hill.
Pull into the open area on the south west corner and 4 wheel it to
the trailhead at N 39 09.193 W 119 43.873. [I recommend Google
Earthing the trailhead coordinates to facilitate finding it.]
Follow the Prison Hill trail about 1.3 miles southeastward with an
elevation gain of almost 600 feet. Take along at least 1 quart of
water per person and sunscreen.
Cache contents include small children's toys and a log
book.
