Geocache Description:


As I was wandering the trails today, I ended up in this strange and mysterious corner of Theodore Wirth Park. This seemed like a Wirth-y place for a cache, right along the shores of Twin Lake...so here it is, one more cache in Wirth!

Location, Parking, and Access

This cache is located along the Minneapolis Urban Singletrack Off-Road Cycling Trails in Theodore Wirth Park. These trails are open to hikers as well as bikers, and is often a very busy place - keep your eyes and wits about you, as you might need to yield the trail at a moment's notice. Also, this trail turns pretty steep at the end, and the old wooden stairs have seen better days, so please watch your step if it's muddy or icy!

Free and legal street parking is available on the South side of Woodland Trail, off of Hidden Lakes Parkway, at N 44° 59.534 W 093° 19.905. From there, it's a very short walk around the corner to the trailhead at N 44° 59.500 W 093° 19.950. Please do NOT park in the Hospital parking lot - it will only get you a few feet closer, and you'll risk getting your car towed!

You are looking for a regular-sized Lock 'n Lock container, hidden in the usual sort of place. It starts out with small toys, some nifty camping-related trinkets, and a couple of trackables. This is a great area to hike or bike, and while you're here, be sure to check out the other caches on the same trails...after all, you made it this far!
