Geocache Description:

This is a three stage multicache that basically follows the route I take from my home to a local fishing spot. Traveling from the first stage to the second can be done on a sidewalk. From the second to the third, you will have to diverge from the sidewalk and go a little off-road.

The cache ends at a manmade pond (which my family nicknamed "Eko Lake" a number of years of years ago – hello “Lost” fans – but it's really fed by Plum Creek and "Plum Pond" would probably be a better name). Bring your fishing pole, both for good stealth and for a fun time.

Parking is available at each stage, but it is a great cache to be done on foot or on a bike. When the proposed "Dyer Central Park" gets built, this cache will basically run the perimeter. It’s a good idea to bring a pen/pencil and paper, maybe a calculator, and a plastic bag for your swag for this cache.

Stage 1 is a micro container. Use your pen to write down the coordinates that it gives (please do not remove the one permanent copy). No need to remove the top of the container from its location. Just unscrew it, read the coordinates and screw it back in. You can easily park for this cache on the adjacent North/South road.

Stage 2 is container-less. You can park for this stage in the parking lot. Find the sign. Look at the permanent portion of the sign (the top part...not the removable letters). Both the East and West sides of the sign are identical. Just concentrate on one side. Add up the value of all of the numbers that appear on the permanent portion of the sign. Multiply that number by 115. Then add to that the number of ladders that appear in the yellow symbol at the top left. Add to that the number of hats also in that symbol. Add to that the number of letters in the name of the color of the star in the “Star of Life” symbol with the snake. That final number = AAA.

Turn to look at the building that this sign is in front of. What breed of dog would most likely walk out of one of those doors? Count the number of letters in that breed name (keep it singular, not plural). Add that number to the number of letters in the one word answer to this question: What long object is hooked to a hydrant?

Then subtract 2 from that number. The final number = BB.

Final coordinates:
N 41° 29.AAA’ W 087° 30.7BB’

Stage 3 is a regular size, PVC pipe container. Parking for this cache is a little tricky. The best parking is at the end of Clark Rd. near the cell phone tower. I've parked there without any problems many times, but you will have to cross over active railroad tracks. The coordinates for that parking are: N 41° 29.849’ W 087° 30.694’. You can also park at N 41° 29.911’ W 087° 31.111’. This is a business parking lot near the cache that allows parking during non-business hours and on the weekend. If you park there (or approach the cache from the north on foot or bike), then you won't have to deal with active railroad tracks. The tracks near the final are not in use.

Please replace the cache back in its original location...and make sure it's covered to avoid water getting in. Secure the lid of the cache, but PLEASE DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. Very important...trust me, it can be a chore to open if the lid is too tight. There is enough room in the container for my log book, some travel bugs, and small swag. I'll try to keep it stocked with my "seed prizes". Please take one.

I’m very close by if anything about this multicache needs my attention. You can contact me through Geocaching.com or at seedofmemory@gmail.com and I’ll do my best to fix anything. Please email me as well with any questions. Good luck on my first cache hide! – Seed of Memory (seedofmemory.com)
