I have been meaning to put a cache here for quiet while but never got round to it.
I spent many an hour on the drome after it was abandoned. I also vaguely remember my Grandfather showing me traces of the old dummy airfield that was built before the bomber station was built.
The original hangers were bigger than the one rebuilt to house the Lancaster at the museum and we would dare each over to go inside the one that stood were the cache is hidden. All the metal panels used to bang and rattle and it really echoed and scared us stiff, I seem to remember great big saucer light shades hanging above the lights.
I am sure older people who lived in the area can remember the Americans hedge hopping in jets scaring the life out of us and more than once braking the sound barrier and braking greenhouse windows o happy days.
The cache is not inside the museum you don’t have to pay.
