The Greasy Ridge Cache Explosion is a series of caches along Greasy Ridge in Lawrence County, OH. This is the sixth cache of eight in this series. This is a small ammo box located in the wooded area of Kingery Cemetery. Please respect normal dusk-till-dawn cemetery hours.
Greasy Ridge (Co. Rd. 2) runs from its junction at Rt. 243 in Bradrick to its terminus at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Greasy Ridge. This is a very scenic and historic route, which runs along some of Lawrence County’s highest ridges.
Kingery Cemetery is located about a mile off Greasy Ridge. Although your GPSr should lead you right to the cemetery, I marked waypoints for each turn. Take a right on Zimmerman Cemetery Road (38*36.033 X 082*24.835). The next turn is the road that leads back to the cemetery (38*35.452 X 082*24.073). These are dirt/gravel roads, that's why the terrain is a 2.5.
The cache is hidden in the wooded area along the perimeter of the cemetery. There is no need to walk among the graves. Along the old fenceline, there is a spot near the Dillons where there is no fence and two small trees. That's probably where you should enter the woods.
FYI: There are several Civil War veterans buried in this cemetery (see pic).
