Geocache Description:

A traditional cache, a 2.4L box, concealed in the Warwickshire countryside.

Lighthorne in Warwickshire lies in the Felden - the old arable lands, to the south and east of the Fosse way, rather than in the Arden - the Forests to the north and west.

The cache is close to a clearly marked path down to a stream, across land which can get very sticky when wet. The copse is a landmark which can be seen for some distance over the open fields. There are good views over the local farmlands on the approach to this cache, whether you use the recommended parking place, or the various alternatives.
It lies between a ridge, on which sits the runway of Gaydon airfield - at one time a nuclear bomber base, and on the other, a rather more interesting copse - the disguise for the old bomb store.
The lay-bye suitable for parking is clearly a hang-over from military construction too - but the cache, a 2.4L box, itself is hidden in a much less threatening location.
Please take care not to trample crops - the footpath is clearly marked and the cache ca be accessed without entering crops. If possible, please try not to leave too much of a cachers trail, although this may be difficult as weeds can grow high around here.
