This cache is located between Malham Tarn and Littondale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Parsons Pulpit once sported it's very own trigpoint (remnants of which are close to the cache) and has superb views of Littondale and the mountains of Upper Wharfedale. It can be accessed from one of two ancient monastic routes, the Monk's Road from Arncliffe to Malham (to the North) and a similar one from Malham to Hawkswick (to the south). If you approach from the route to the south, you can avoid being blocked by dry stone walls by heading for Gate A (waypoints given below) then, keeping the wall on your right, head for Gate B and onto the cache. There's an awesome 'First to Find' medallion enclosed for one lucky cacher.
And there's more .......
If you liked this cache there are many more 'Sykesfamily' caches in similar, awe inspiring locations scattered around the Yorkshire Dales National Park and surrounding valleys. So grab your walking boot, pack your sandwiches, leave your troubles behind and head for the hills .... Enjoy!!
