Geocache Description:

AGS = Andy Griffith Show which ran from 1960 through 1968. This series of caches are placed in a friendly town.
Goober Pyle (portrayed by George Lindsey) - “Goober” is an Americanization of the West African Congo language word “Nguba”, meaning peanut. “Goober Peas” is another variation of this term, amd may have provided the inspiration for the character’s name. The term goober has entered pop culture and is synonymous with dork.
Goober was the cousin of Gomer Pyle. Goober worked at the same filling station as Gomer. Goober was Mayberry’s “village idiot”. He was a childlike and somewhat dimwitted character, similar to Gomer, although not as extreme. He was almost always seen wearing a brown beanie hat with a turned up scalloped edge (similar to the comic character Jughead Jones). The exception to this were when he would dress up for the rare formal occasion.
Goober was born and raised in Mayberry. He was trained as a mechanic in Raleigh, NC, and served a stint in the National Guard where he picked up the phrase, “Yo”. Goober worked at Wally’s Filling Station which he eventually purchased and became the proprietor of. His girlfriend was Flora Malherbe.
Goober was known for his (bad) impressions. He had a penchant for comic books and B-grade, and sci-fi movies. Goober’s older brother, Braden, was a rocket scientist for NASA. Howard Sprague attributed the differences of the siblings to recessive genes.
Goober was used as an emergency deputy several times when a minor crime wave erupted in Mayberry.

This micro is placed in a traditional way. You will need to bring your own writing instrument. This is in a busy area so beware of muggles.
As always have fun, be safe, happy caching, and enjoy each day to its fullest.
