The Story (as told by Lori):
It was early February 2006 and I had just started back at work for
my second season at my seasonal employer. I took a different job
than my first season, a job working with Photoshop- which I love.
=D It was pretty cool and the work was pretty easy for me. I wanted
to make myself comfortable at my little work area so I brought in
some pictures to hang up on my computer. I had one of me with Kasey
Kahne, one of Justin Timberlake, one of my pets, and one of my new
baby niece. A couple weeks passed and some new people started
coming in and training. For the most part, I really just kept to
myself and did the work, so I didn't really notice any of the new
people. One day, I came into work and there was a post-it note on
my computer, a drawing of my niece made from the picture I had
there. I was flattered that someone would take the time to look at
my pictures and then even expand on it. I left a note back saying I
thought it was cool and I didn't expect much after that. But then a
few days later, it was Valentine's Day, and I came to work to find
another post-it note drawing, this time of a rose. I felt special
but I figured that this guy just likes to draw and he's just being
nice. As more new people came in, I was asked to switch seats for
awhile so the trainer could have the new people sitting next to
him. So I did, and after awhile I just decided to switch for good
because it seemed to me that those new guys were pretty comfortable
in their seats. So I moved my pictures and got comfortable in my
new spot. In this new seat, I went from being totally swooned to
completely annoyed. Apparently the 2nd shift guy who sat in this
new spot really had a knack for picking on me because of my Justin
and Kasey pictures. I would come into work only to find post-its
covering my pictures. I could have let it go if it was just the one
time, but it wasn't. A couple of days passed and everyday I would
find post-its over my pictures and I just caved. I took down my
pictures. Soon enough, I found another post-it folded up at the
base of my computer. A note. Opening with "People are stupid". It
was the guy from the first spot I had sat in. He told me I should
have just left my pictures up and annoyed the guy. And then, at the
end of the note, he left his e-mail and said he'd really like to
talk. So over the next couple weeks we talked online and had an
occasional "Hello." at work when I would leave and he would come in
for 2nd shift. Then he managed to change shifts so we could work
together. We had our first date in early April and about a week
later we were officially a couple. And, as of December 24, 2007 -
we're engaged. ^__^
Date's set for May 16th, 2009!
We'll probably have an event to celebrate so keep your eyes
peeled. ;)
As always, thanks && Happy Caching!*!! :)
