Geocache Description:

A handmade magnetic nano cache container at a public boat landing.

You can see Island Park from this boat launch. Seventy Years ago, There was a big pavilion and a public beach on the island. From the late 1930's up until the mid 1950's Big Bands and popular big name singers performed at the pavilion. A local Waterville attraction, "The Al Corey Band" was a popular attraction in the early fifties. People from surrounding areas would take the trolly cars to here on Saturday nights. Later when the trollies were gone, they'd drive here in their "Flivers" and cross the old wooden bridge, to dance the night away.
My Mom and Dad brought me here the last night it was open. I remember a huge mirror ball on the ceiling and a bench that went around the outer wall of the pavlion. Later after the pavilion closed, we would still come here to swim at the public beach that was still there. Later when that too closed I used to party with friends who owned a camp on Hershey Island, which is the smaller island out from Island Park. There used to be a wooden walk bridge that went out to Hershey.
While you are at this boat landing check out the HUGE Norway Spruce tree to the left of where the cache is. Absolutely Gigantic!
The Cache contains only a log
