Join us on Saturday, June 14 on the banks of the Beautiful South Santiam River for a relaxed get together and BBQ picnic potluck thingie. I will be there from about 10:30am until everyone decides to go home (usually between 4 and 5pm)
To reach the event you will have to descend to the river via an old gravel road grade. It is overgrown slightly with grass and is a very manageable incline suitable for children.
This location is a flat area where there used to be an old homestead. There is much tree cover and it will have plenty of shade. There is a short trail to the river where colorful rocks abound.
The river is fine for swimming but the current is swift enough that small children should be well attended at all times. It is a fine place for friendly well behaved dogs, however there is a HWY at the top of the trail so they should be watched well or on a leash. There are no bathroom facilities or running water. I will bring a BBQ, a table, and some soda.
The parking should be adequate for the typical turn out to an Odder Swimmin' BBQ event. There is a pull out along the road and another road nearby for overflow parking.
