Geocache Description:

Easy terrain

This is a circular walk around Madehurst and environs. The walk is about 8 miles long and has a variety of cache sizes and types. These consist of 22 caches in total. Of these there are two multi caches, two bonus caches, 17 traditional and a church micro which is also on the route. The coordinates for the two multi caches are placed in the traditional caches somewhere along the route (a N or W, 4 in total)so we do not recommend doing this series in a reverse order unless you want a long walk back.

We suggest parking at N50 52.673 W000 35.570 which is a layby on the A29 and has the footpath to begin the walk situated by the side of it.

There are no pens in any of the micro caches so please remember to bring one along.

The walk is mainly through woodland with some great views to be seen. You will also have to travel on a quiet country lane from "Madehurst Church" to "Trees of Cedar".
There are 4 stiles to cross which makes it difficult (but not impossible) for bikes. At the beginning and the end of the route there are some stinging nettles along the edge of the footpath so wearing jeans or long trousers is recommended. However if you are tough like Christine just wear shorts. (She has done so twice now but I am not brave enough).
Not every cache along the route contains a clue but some have more than one so stay alert and remember to record them.
Please make sure that the micro caches are screwed up tight. They are designed to be watertight but I have only seem them leak when not fully tightened. (Don't go overboard now!)
We hope you enjoy this lovely walk.
