Geocache Description:

This cache is placed near McDonald Creek. It is a short walk through the woods. Easy terrain, but not handicap accessible. NOTE: in the spring when the frost is coming out of the ground, the gravel road to the dam shouldn't be driven on with a car or truck because it can cause deep ruts. Please be considerate in March and April when caching in this area.

The cache is a camo covered rubbermaid container near what used to be called No. 4 Dam and is now known as McDonald Dam. There are often people fishing for crappies, perch, or northerns near the dam. There are also tent sites and an outhouse.

During the old logging days, trees were cut and dragged by horse drawn sleigh to the river where they were floated down as far as the dams. In the spring when the rivers were high the logs could continue down river to the sawmills.
