Geocache Description:

This cache is to commemorate the birth on this date of the elder (very) half of the dynamic duo who first hooked us on this insane sport – bob&lynne (now 8ender and lynnewill). The posted coordinates are those of the very first cache Beta Bob tested for us – Manotick Steeplechase.

NOTE: THE CACHE WAS REPLACED AND RELOCATED JULY 29, 2012.The cache is now located in a potentially doomed location at N 45 1G.A(C-E)(B+C) W 075 4E.GF(D-A+C).

To figure out the coordinates, simply answer a few questions about Bob’s birth date and year.

1. On the same momentous date as Bob arrived, the bassist with the group Starship made his initial appearance. The number of letters in his last name is A.

2. Which Fleetwood Mac person made his debut on earth one day earlier than Bob. Call the digital root* of the numeric equivalent of the first letter of his last name B.

3. Which major play did Arthur Miller write in Bob’s birth year? The total number of letters in its name is CD.

4. _______ the _________ made his debut that year in the Bugs Bunny cartoon Haredevil Hare. Call the numerical equivalent of the second letter of his two names E.

5. The Calgary Stampeders won their first Grey Cup that year by defeating the Ottawa Roughriders. Total the teams’ scores and subtract 10 to determine F, and then find out how many 10s of thousands of fans watched this game in Toronto’s Varsity Stadium and call this number G.

When birthed, the cache contained a FTF birthday gift, a purple man travelbug, a classic magnet, a gluestick, Snoopy, 3 erasers, a clothespin, 4 marbles, an apple liquid keychain, a logbook, a pencil and the obligatory geocaching manifesto.

* digital root – sum the digits and then sum the resulting digits until you reach a single digit
