Sasquatch Caching Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

King of Pennsylvania: Unfortunately I have to archive this one. It turns out this Tuscanita 420 person stole my cache container and hid it somewhere else. I first believed this to be a joke of another cacher, but it turns out that it was not. Anyway if you run into Tuscanita 420 tell him to give me my container back.

Geocache Description:

This just in…
If you were concerned about your parking lot micro geocache being “muggled” you might not be prepared for this information. Gentle cacher, be warned that you might have trouble sleeping after learning the undeniable truth of what is really happening to those micros.

First let’s clear up some government sponsored misconceptions that keep the public from knowing the TRUTH.

Fact one –Creatures known as Bigfoot, or Sasquatch do exist (Yetis are their Himalayan cousins).

Fact two –Due to their large size and limited dexterity these same creatures do not like small objects

Fact three –Some unconscionable geocachers hide “micro” geocaches in the very habitat that these normally peaceful creatures live.

Fact four –Sasquatches mate for life.

Here begins the current understanding of the Bigfoot Creature:

The Bigfoot also known as a Sasquatch, is a large-sized bipedal mammal found throughout most of the continental United States, southern Canada, Mexico, Central America and northern portions of South America as far south as Peru.

The species is most common east of the American cordillera, and is absent from much of the western United States, including Nevada, Utah, and California. It does, however, survive in aspen parklands and deciduous river bottomlands within the Central and Northern Great Plains, and in mixed deciduous riparian corridors, river valley bottomlands, and lower foothills of the Northern Rocky Mountain Regions from Wyoming to Southeastern British Columbia. The conversion of land adjacent to the Northern Rocky Mountains into agriculture use and partial clear-cutting of coniferous trees (resulting in widespread deciduous vegetation) has been favorable to the Sasquatch
The westernmost population, the Columbian Bigfoot once was widespread in the mixed forests along the Willamette River (Willamette Valley Forests Ecoregion) and Cowlitz River Valleys of Western Oregon and Southwestern Washington (endangered).

There are also populations of Arizona and Carmen Mountains Bigfoots that inhabit the mountain mixed deciduous/pine forests of Arizona, New Mexico, and West Texas extending southwards into Mexico.

As a result of introductions, Sasquatches are found also in localized areas of northern Europe such as Finland.
Sasquatches are generalists and can adapt to a wide variety of habitats. Although most often thought of as forest animals depending on relatively small openings and edges, Sasquatches can equally adapt themselves to life in more open savanna and even sage communities as in Texas and in the Venezuelan llanos region. The savanna adapted Bigfoot communities are relatively smaller in proportion to their woodland cousins. Also, there is a noticeable difference in size between male and female Sasquatches of the savannas.

Additionally here at the York County Big Foot Society we have made some startling ground-breaking discoveries. What we at YCBFS have learned in our infallible research is that the ire of the Sasquatch frequently is turned upon unsuspecting geocachers. The Sasquatches observe a geocacher hiding a micro cache and fly off into a blind rage oftentimes hurting and maiming the cacher. Ignorance is no excuse and in some instances for cachers ignorance can mean an uncertain future.

Take for instance Case #31457 –a sad case indeed. In this situation a known micro-cache hider, PAHawkeye was hiding a micro cache in the South-Central Pennsylvania area. Evidence found at the last known location of Mr. Hawkeye confirmed our suspicions. Numerous large footprints were found near a jacket, a GPSr (with PAHawkeye’s DNA) and a whole slew of nano-cache containers. This evidence supports our belief that PAHawkeye has been abducted by a Sasquatch, and with the Sasquatch mating season in full-bloom one can only wonder what has happened to the captured geocacher.

There have been recent sightings of a “bigfoot” type creature near the above location. We here at the York County Bigfoot Society humbly submit these photos as incontrovertible proof of their existence.

In order to take credit for finding this geocache you must take a photo of a Bigfoot near the area of the cache (Use your imagination). Also you must promise, in order to allow the Sasquatches of the area to live in happy co-existence with us humans, not to hide a micro geocache for a year. If you do hide them then don’t be surprised if they’ve been “Sasquatched!” I’ll be lenient on the promise but not on the photo. No photo no log! Alright so with accordance with the new rules at Groundspeak you don't have to take a picture but it sure is fun. Take a look at some of those photos.

This cache was place with permission of the land owner. Please respect his wishes by parking in the designated area (coordinates included) and follow along the creek until you must leave the creek to find the cache. Also there is a friendly dog named Jake who keeps the Sasquatch population away from the house. There’s no threat to humans unless he was just in the creek.
