Rottneby Herrgård har anor från 1500, då
brukad av ätten Stierna.
Den nuvarande bygnaden är uppförd 1794 och är
ombyggd och har bytt byggnadsstil ett flertal gånger sedan
dess.
Bla 1816 då en omfattande renovering av herrgården
genomfördes ledd av arkitekten Clas Wallman som då
byggde om gården i nyklassisk stil.
I början av 1900 talet köps och renoveras gården av
familjen Nisser, Nissers har då sedan länge bebott
gården då den köptes Kopperbergs-Hofors
sågverksaktiebolag på 1800 talet och bolagets disponet
Sammy Nisser flyttade in på gården.
Herrgården ägs idag av Mikael Styrman som köpte
gården på 1990 talet men som tyvärr hotade att
avverka den närliggande Rottnebyskogen, det tillät inte
komunen som tvångsinlöste den och bildade ett
naturreservat för att skydda den för falutrakten så
unika och populära skogsmiljön. Mikael Styrman
lämnade då gården åt sitt öde och den
började förfalla.
Idag är herrgårde utmätt av kronofogden och
avsikten är att den ska säljas på auktion.
Gården har utsatts för skadegörelse och eftersom
man är rädd att den ska skall förstöras och
förfalla totalt har föreningen Rottnebys vänner
bildats som ser till sin uppgift att rädda den vackra
gården.
Granne med herrgården ligger Rottneby
handelsträdgård som är en av landets äldsta
handelsträdgårdar. Den startade 1910 då för
att förse herrgården med färskvaror.
Handelsträdgården startades av Ernst Wilhelm
Wångdahl som ägde och drev den 1910 - 1948. Sedan togs
den över av Rudolf "Rulle" Johansson och den nuvarande
ägaren sedan 1978 är Mats Neubauer.
Handelsträdgården har ett välbevarat växthus
från 1910 som fortfarande är aktivt. Växthuset
är idag sveriges äldsta.
Rottneby Estates have a history from 1500, when used of the Stierna
dynasty.
The current building was built in 1794 and has been rebuilt and
changed style of architecture several times since then.
In 1816 an extensive renovation of the manor was conducted led by
the architect Clas Wallman, who rebuilt it in neoclassic
style.
In the early 1900's the estate was bought and renovated by the
Nisser family , the Nissers had then since long inhabited the
estate, and it was bought from the Kopperbergs-Hofors timbermill
company in 1800's and the company's disponet Sammy Nisser moved in
to the estate.
The estate is today owned by Mikael Styrman, who bought the estate
in the early 1990's.
Mikael Styrman unfortunately, threatened to harvest the nearby
Rottnebyforrest, the cityhall of Falun did not allow this and to
protect the old forrest, the cityhall created a nature reserve to
protect the forrest that is for Falun so unique and popular.
Mikael Styrman then left the estate to it's fate and it began to
decay. Today, the estate has been subjected to vandalism and
because people are afraid that it will be destroyed in total, the
association "Rottnebys friends" has been formed to ensure to rescue
the beautiful estate.
Next door of the manor is Rottneby gardens which is one of the
country's oldest gardens.
It started in 1910 to supply the manor with fresh products.
Rottneby garden was founded by Ernst Wilhelm Wångdahl who ran
it from 1910 to 1948.
Later it was taken over by Rudolf "Roll"Johansson, the current
owner, Mats Neubauer took over in 1978. The garden have a
wellprecerved greenhouse from 1910 that is still active. The
greenhouse is today the oldest in sweden.
