This cache is a bright red 30 cal ammo can that is hanging from the
largest tree around, so it should be very easy for Runfrog to find
(no need to get Harthausen to help you with this one).
Just how easy is it?
1. Its only 0.18 miles from parking.
2. There is a nice official park trail (Whitely Farms trail) that
passes within 120 feet of the cache.
3. The cache is visible from 20 feet away in almost any
direction.
4. There are no stickers within 20 feet of the cache.
If it sounds too good to be true, just maybe there is a
catch.
Many years ago a cacher by the name of Howie (who gave us the
first Delaware GeoEvent) gave Runfrog the nickname of
Stickerboy because he seemed to like to place caches in the
stickers.
Well this one is for you Stickerboy! For those other
cachers who may want to complain to me--just blame it on Runfrog
since I am just giving him what he apparently likes.
The cache is in White Clay Creek Park. There is a $3 parking fee
from March 1 to November 30. Better still support out state parks
with a $27 annual pass.
UPDATE 10-26-2010. THIS CACHE SUDDENLY MUCH EASIER. Work on
invasive plant control at the park has resulted in bulldozed paths
to all the large trees to remove the invasive vines. Find the right
way and its easy walk.
