Geocache Description:

Markings on a Stone, a MultiCache

Markings on a Stone

Thousands were sent
Many came not home
We are remembered here
Mere markings on a stone

Most won't remember us
But a few always will
Say a prayer as you stand
Say a prayer and be still

Add the digits you see
On this small block of stone
And think of us all
On your final trip home

Read the stone and pray
And remember again
It could be in Russian,
Japanese or German

Have a great day
And remember a while
We're the reason you're free
And why you can smile

If you drive home due west
Just a few blocks away
You might just see sitting
A warrior biding his day

He sits and remembers
What it takes to stay free
He's there 'cause he did,
He served you and me

He's not always there
When he is, give a wave
A smile, a kind word
It's he who was brave

When I pass on my walk
We usually say
"Think its gonna rain?"
"Yep, have a good day"

I know that he has so
Much more he could say
But I just pass and wave
And he sits there all day

He may have passed on
His name I don't know
But I will always remember
My old friend, G.I. Joe
