Geocache Description:

This cache meets the guidelines for Minnesota State Forests.

A superior hunter, this falcon is also known as the duck hawk and feeds mostly on birds in flight. It captures its prey by dropping down at tremendous speeds to grab it or knock it senseless with a foot. In Europe during the Middle Ages, the peregrine was used in the sport of falconry. Kings and noblemen would tame the birds and train them to hunt game for human consumption.
