Cache is located up on Baker Hill along a public trail system maintained by the Frenchman Bay Conservancy. Turn north from Route 1 onto Punkinville Road close Sumner High School. Look for Baker Hill sign on your left. Uphill climb (84 feet elevation) to cache, perhaps 1/4 mile in.
I just like that name - Punkinville. Maintained by the Frenchman Bay Conservancy, this trail system has some fantastic views of Frenchman Bay and Mount Desert Island so be sure to bring a camera and binoculars. Heading up Punkinville Road, watch for the Baker Hill Trail sign on your left. There is a small parking area N44.30.853 and W068.10.060 and the trail is well marked. After entering the main trail go left at the sign that says "Lookout". After that sign, there are a couple of trails that lead you up to the cache. At a spot somewhere around N44.30.812 and W068.10.165 I turned right and headed uphill. From that same coord you can also go straight another 30 yards or so and then turn right/uphill. Just don't head downhill. Along the trail up the hill there are several spots where the trees open up giving you some spectacular views that are good enough to be on a calendar. A clear day would be best to do this one! The cache is just off the trail up on top. Thanks to Becket for suggesting this location....
