THIS CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES
"The waiting drove me mad..."
I've been waiting for some time to place this cache. Had to find
just the right time, and make sure there were enough clues out
there to help in your search. To find the correct coordinates, you
must answer one simple question: What is the name of my favorite
band? Sounds simple, but since you probably don't know me, or you
may not be a fan, it could be difficult. If you do some snooping
around you'll find a few clues (if you've read this far, you've
already seen a few). And if you really snoop around you may even
find the answer staring you right in the face. I've been a fan of
these guys since they first started. Their music definitely speaks
to me, and the fellow fans I've met along the way are great people.
Fortunately the band tours a lot, which has allowed me to see them
22 times (and counting). Vacations are planned around their touring
schedule, and I've been known to take off and follow them around
the country. I'm addicted, I admit it. On to the cache.
THIS CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES. But you
should park there (except for 7AM to 3PM M-F) to begin your search.
If you're not up for a bit of a challenge, maybe this cache is Not
For You. The best way to get to the parking area is to take the
Last Exit. Once you get there, leave the campus in your
rearviewmirror and walk past the basketball courts. Don't you love
basketball? My favorite player of all time was Mookie Blaylock
(what number did he wear?). From there, start walking the Long
Road. Take the firmest path. You'll pass signs along the way (the
rusted signs we ignore throughout our lives, choosing the shiny
ones instead). There will be a Yield sign, and a which-way sign
(will you know which way to go?), an old country store with a sign
tacked to the side that says No L-O-I-T-E-R-I-N-G Allowed
(underneath that sign always congregates quite a crowd). And a
plaque on the wall which says that no one slept here. If you get
tired along the way you may have to rest your head on a pillow made
of concrete. If you've got all these questions and don't know who
you can even ask, you should go find that elderly woman behind the
counter in a small town. Or that Crazy Mary chick. You know her?
She may be sitting out on the Porch. Or else she'll be over at
Lukin's. But stay away from that Dirty Frank guy. He's bad news.
And it seems there's always a bunch of Lost Dogs hanging around his
place. When you get close you'll see plenty of trees. Can you see
the way that tree bends? Does it inspire? Reaching out to catch the
sun's rays, a lesson to be applied.
Okay, got it? Don't it make you Smile? Now take the letters in
the band's name (disregard any spaces) and turn them into numbers
by their position in the alphabet (A=1, B=2, C=3,...Z=26). Now add
up all the individual numbers. You should have a two digit result.
The cache is located at: N 43 00.8?? W078 47.4?? Take your
two digit number and add 14 to get the latitude numbers. Take your
two digit number and divide by 2, then subtract 7 to get the
longitude numbers. You'll have a short hike, less than 1/2 mile
from the parking area (a bit longer from the alternate parking).
There's plenty of wildlife in the area, especially in the area near
the cache. You may see deer, fox, heron, turkeys, and all kinds of
other birds I can't identify (but no Rats). POSTED HOURS ARE 6AM
TO 10PM
Cache is a camo'd peanut butter jar and it contains a log and
some small trade items. Bring your own pen. Please replace exactly
as found. I hope this cache ranks as a Ten in your book. Good Luck,
and I'll see you on the flip side.

Congrats to Cayuga Crew, FTF!
