Enjoy the spectacular view from Raven's Rest Pavilion nestled in the mountains of Blue Knob State Park. Then search for temporary hides and the ultimate "monster buck".
This Event will revolve around a "hunting" theme. There will be temporary caches set up within the Park. Each cache will contain sealed envelopes. The idea is to take one and only one sealed envelope from the cache per caching team. The collected envelopes must remain sealed and may only be opened at the Pavillion by the cache event honorary "game wardens" at the specified time.
Temporary Caches will contain a random amount of wildlife envelopes. Each type of wildlife is worth points~~some worth lots of points others will make you lose points. You can probably guess which ones won't be worth much! Since the envelopes are sealed you will have to rely on "LUCK" to score the most points. Everyone can play this game whether you find all the caches or just a few. You never know where the "monster buck" may be!
Wear orange, camoflauge, hunting licenses or any other "hunting" stuff to score more points.
PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED!!
Other games for this event include:
Flag-O-Rama~~a game of accuracy at measuring distances. Geogolf~~matching a waypoint each cacher selects in comparison to the winning coordinates pre-set by the honorary "game wardens"
Water balloon toss~~everyone knows this game!
We will also promote "CITO as you go". Bags will be provided. Drawings will be held for those participating.
