A 'Quick & Easy' Cache with a great mural, view and a Benchmark!
The Cache is hidden near the Southeast Pier (The river runs nearly North to South here and the bridge is actually almost an East-West structure!) of the Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks, Oregon. Looking across the Columbia River into Washington, you will see that there are two 'flat-sided' mountains -- Table Mountain and Greenleaf Peak. Many, many years ago, there was a massive landslide off these mountains that dammed the Columbia River. Over time the dam eroded away and became a natural bridge. Legend has it that Native Americans used that bridge to cross from the Northwest bank of the Columbia to the Southeast until it eventually collapsed into the river.
Check out the photos of the mural and on one of them there is an arrow pointing at a Benchmark that you can also Log! This is sort of a two-for-one Cache. Enjoy!
There is also a second Benchmark viewable and capable of being photographed from this general area that is not a brass disk. A little prior research will gain that Benchmark for you, also. (Hint: Almost any photo of the bridge will also include the other Benchmark.)

Thought that I would add this info to the Cache Page!!
Log Date: 8/30/2009
Grabbed this one this morning...signed the log, but some one was checking out the equipment when I wanted to put it back....so we just kept looking at things and these people wouldn't go away. That's when I noticed the GPS in his hand! OH! THAT's why they wouldn't go away...they couldn't find it because I had it! LOL. Met the cachers from Belgium. It was fun to visit with them for a bit. And this is my 300th find, so I will be remembering this one! Thanks for the cache placement, [oh, and my husband, who grew up on a farm says that piece of equipment is called a grain drill, it's for planting grain.] :D
