Located off I-40 at exit 73 on old Hwy 70. After exiting Interstate, go in northerly direction till you see a large arrowhead. Take left to next state road on right (old 70). Go to Piney Grove Church (where road dead ends) & park next to it in gravel lot. Please do not block the road! Go thru gate to 1st road on left w/ gate. Approx. 1 mile from gate to cache.
Spyder & I hid this cache in 2001 & it was the first one in hidden in this county. We were new but after only a handful of finds we felt we were ready to put out our own. Back then there weren't many caches in the entire state. He put most of it together but it was listed under my name as he hadn't officially signed up with the site yet. When pondering a name for it I felt like "Spyder's Cache" was the most appropriate one I could think of & by the time it was listed it was too late for him to do anything about it! :-). We were both pretty proud to have the first in the area & currently one of the older ones in the state. We've trekked many a mile through these woods since that time. Spyder passed away on 1-29-14 so now this cache is even more memorable to me & I hope that future cachers will take a couple minutes to remember one of the early participants of this game.
