Geocache Description:

A nice easy cache in the gardens of a Lancing park

Brooklands park was once a Council waste tip until reclaimed in the late 1950s! It is now a large (45 acres) open space offering a range of activities around an 8 acre boating lake. The site also has a miniature railway, childrens playground, summer paddling pool, pony rides, an excellent café, nine hole Par 3 golf course, putting green, and go-kart track together with some landscaped areas that provide year round interest for all ages.

Admission to the park is free though there is a charge for parking. As of now it is 50p for the first 30 minutes which is long enough to grab the cache and get out, and then £1.20 an hour if you want to stay a while and if you have kids you can easily kill a few hours here. Most of the surrounding roads are double yellow lines. Beware of the speed camera right at the entrance to the car park!

There are toilet facilities next to the little cafe, plenty of parking, easy access for pushchairs/wheelchairs and don't forget to bring your dog.

This is a very popular location and as such is jammed packed with muggles but I have placed the cache in one of the quieter areas that most people don't even know exists. You are looking for a tupperware type box with notebook, pen and a selection of swaps. Please take great care in replacing the cache as I had trouble concealing this without resorting to using the masses of spiky and stinging plants in the area.

UPDATE: It is now a shocking minimum £1.20 to park in the car park here. However I have studied the local dog walking population and have noticed that many of them go past the park entrance and take the next left which is the entrance to the Southern Water treatment works. This is a very long driveway with entrance via obvious path into the park. Discreet parking is going on here and this area will leave you about 200 yards from the cache location so you could be in and out in a few minutes.
