Drauglet at the cache site

One minute you're in a quiet, suburban neighborhood, the next you're in a rugged forest, wondering where the trail went. Follow it as best you can through the ferny undergrowth, and you'll find the prize!

The first thing you will encounter is a large "No Trespassing" sign -- you are free to pass it by, as the owners of this area have granted permission to Geocachers (and only to Geocachers!) to use this area.

This is a very special area, an environmentally sensitive greenbelt owned by the Summer Ridge Homeowers Association. It is strictly off-limits to anyone but residents and Geocachers looking for this cache. You are welcome in this beautiful spot because the people in the neighborhood know you will help them keep this area clean and green.

Two years ago, this area was completely trashed. For decades, it had been used illegally as an off-road motorcycle course, paintball field, and all-purpose dumping ground. The local homeowners banded together and arranged a massive cleanup. Tons of debris were removed. The results are obvious; nature has reclaimed this spot entirely. You will almost certainly see deer, and you might even encounter a black bear or a cougar!

Be very careful in this area; the undergrowth is reclaiming the old motocross trails, and there are some fairly steep drops. Remember that this is an environmentally sensitive area, so tread very lightly -- no stunt-biking, please (sorry, Moun10Bike!). The satellite coords can be all over the place, especially when it's raining, so be aware of your surroundings. Also, please remember to be very respectful of the neighbors. They own this greenbelt, and they've been kind enough to grant permission for us to use it. Let's honor that kindness. Also, please consider practicing Cache In, Trash Out, and please note in your log entry if you notice any large-scale trash dumping or anything else that seems out of the ordinary.

There are lots of goodies in the cache, plus we've seeded it with several trackables we've picked up here and there. Congrats to dsvaughn on the FTF!

Happy Caching!
