Duck Lake Interpretive Centre SK11 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Northbound: I have decided to archive this listing since this is the 3rd container that has gone missing. It is a great historic spot and I hope someone else will place a cache of a smaller size here in the future. Thanks for the adventure!

Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the Duck Lake Regional Interpretive Centre.

The Duck Lake Historical Museum Society is a non-profit charitable organization that owns and operates the Duck Lake Regional Interpretive Centre.

The collection was started in 1959 by local resident Fred Anderson who first set up the displays in the North West Mounted Police jail.

The Regional Interpretive Centre invites you to experience life from days gone by - from the every day struggles of the Pioneers, to the devastating impact that the near extinction of the buffalo had on the First Nations, and to the harsh aftermath of the North West Resistance for the Métis.

If you have the time, visit the museum to learn more about the 1885 Resistance led by Louis Riel.
