It’s not a puzzle as such, but the reason for the great umpty “?” on the cache page is that the clues are a bit out of the ordinary.
The cache involves a walk of about a mile, some counting (I’d take a tally counter if you have one), some thinking and a little bit of climbing – but no hills.
It may be useful if you take your mobile phone with you. In fact, take your mobile phone with you or you’ll not find the cache.
Go to the page coordinates, which are for parking – room for about 3 cars – and walk to the first waypoint coordinates (POINTLESSNESS). Here you’ll find something (35mm film canister) that will give you written instructions on how to do the next bits. Go back to the level crossing and follow the directions.
Don’t fall off anything.
Please (PLEASE) replace the things you will need exactly where they were. I will say at this point that they are completely valueless apart from at this cache. Don't cross thread the liddy thing. It should replace easily. If it's difficult to rotate, you haven't got it on straight.
Don’t worry about trains either: there are trees growing through the tracks and there hasn’t been a train along here since Arthur Scargill was knee high to the Fat Controller.
Obviously, the logbook must be signed to claim the cache. This is harder than you may think but does not involve anything remotely dangerous.
The system rated the cache at 4/4 first. I disagree.
