Michigan
Spirit Quest #30
Lakeview
Cemetery - Howell, Michigan
This cemetery was
originally the private burial ground for the Thompson family and
anyone doing research in the Howell area is very well aware of this
name.
Around 1867 the land
was deeded over to the Howell Township. It is jointly in the NE 1/4
of Section 36 and also in the Northeast section of the City of
Howell. It is one of the more beautiful sites in the area with
rolling hills and oak trees.
Names that the town
history are built around were originally involved with this
cemetery, like McPherson, Thompson, Galloway and
Hickey.
The interments include
a number of soldiers from all wars during the years from the
Revolutionary to the present.
The City of Howell
purchased the cemetery in 1915, and in 1919 the name was changed to
Lakeview Cemetery.
The cemetery
information came from:

Description
After you have payed
your respects to our military veterans at the posted coordinates
let the quest begin.
The quest consists of
three stages. The memorial is the first stage. The next stage is
offset and can be found by using the following clues (which were
part of the original Howell Remembers cache).
"Once you've found
the veteran's memorial statue, look around at the names that
surround you. You'll know the Force is with you, when you notice
the Chambers below the cache... Look up!"
This stage is a tag
with the coordinates of the final stage. The final stage is a one
quart lock-n-lock container. It is not intended to hold stash or
TBs. It does contain a surprise activity (again part of the
original cache). Come prepared with a pocket full of change, but
don't worry, you won't spend it.
