Geocache Description:

Picnic was located at the Kiwanis Pavilion in Neahwa Park Oneonta, NY from 12 Noon to 4pm on 26 July 2008. Thanks for coming out and meeting new Cachers and enjoying some conversation, food, fun and recognition.

Thanks to everyone who attended and brought a dish to share. If I failed to recognize your contribution please e-mail me(69CSM) and I will rectify the situation. Your attendance made this event a success.

The first Geocaching Hall of Fame Picnic is designed for all ages. The “Stuck in the Middle Cachers” will host the Geocaching Hall of Fame (GHF) Picnic in order to award an attendee (s) who has the most caches found for the Geocaching Hall of Fame. You must attend in order to receive an award and be entered into the GHF. Other prizes will be awarded to cachers who have:

Most Finds

Most Countries

Most States

Fewest Finds

Traveled Furthest to GHF Picnic

*Statistics will be calculated as of 7/25/08.

*Note* All statistics must be verified by user profile.



Burgers and Hot Dogs will be provided. We are asking that everyone attending sign up to bring a dish to share, please make a note in your log what you will bring and how many cachers will attend with you.

There is a lot of room and plenty of recreation opportunities for all ages. There is a skate park, playground area, swimming pool, basketball courts, sand volleyball court and tennis courts all in walking distance from our pavilion! Here is the approximate schedule:

12:00-1:00 Sign log book, mix and mingle. Caching game coordinates given out.

1:00-2:00 Eating and socializing. We will have name tags so we can greet the people that we have only met through the web.

2:00-3:00 There will be a caching game and the winner wins a caching prize. All entries MUST be in by 3:00 pm!

3:00-4:00 Prizes, travel bug exchanges, announcements and social time.



Drop your travel bugs and geocoins in for people to move on to other places. If you have a geocaching type prize that you would like to donate to be given out at the event, please contact us.

Neahwa Park is close driving distance to the International Soccer Hall of Fame and the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. There are caches located in the vicinity of each Hall of Fame.
