Geocache Description:

This journey takes you on a steep, short hike to a location just off the Tunxis trail. An aqueduct system runs through this area and four large vent pipes due north can be seen from the road. It was one of three aqueducts built in Connecticut. Puddle Town can be seen across the river to the west. It was likely so named from Connecticut's Industrial Revolution when puddling furnaces converted iron ore to wrought iron.

Park on the Farmington River Turnpike. The Farmington River Turnpike Company was created in May 1880. The turnpike started in New Hartford and followed the east bank of the Farmington River to the Massachusetts state line.

Icy conditions will substantially increase the terrain rating. Bushwhacking is not required. Please use the blue trail to avoid tresspassing on private property. As always, enjoy the adventure!
