Geocache Description:

Follow in the footsteps of Holmes and Watson as they track down the four clues that will eventually reveal the location of the hidden cache (you might want to write each of these down as you go).

The cache is located just off a public right of way, about 1.25 miles from the nearest road and parking place. Although the path is fairly good in most places, it is not suitable for buggies or small children. The walk takes you through some nice scenery and offers one or two good views of the Georgian stone town of Stamford. After locating the cache, you can continue along the path into Stamford, or retrace your steps to the parking place. If you decide to head on into the town, just follow the yellow waymarkers from the cache. Stamford has a wealth of good pubs and restaurants, but if you're after real ale, a very good pizza, and one of the oldest and most interesting buildings in Stamford, head for The Tobie Norris pub at 52.653640 000.475228. Alternatively, try The Lord Burghley, just around the corner.
