Due to the original 5L container full of games being muggled, we've moved it and downsized to a small container, containing logbook and pencil only.
Please make sure it is well hidden when you leave. Burgess Park is on the outskirts of New Plymouth, on Junction Road.
We had difficulty getting an accurate coordinate fix due to the tree cover. A walk of less than 10 min from the roadside carpark, there is a sign showing the tracks in the park, follow the riverside track towards the old rimu tree.
There is a seat to admire the view of the river and on a clear day you'd probably get a view of the mountain.
The track has some steeper parts past the cache location, but its worth doing the loop track to see the very old rimu tree, and another tree further on with an unusual root formation.
Note: In winter the track would be quite slippery so take care.
