Geocache Description:

This cache is situated on the hillside north east of the village of Ashover locally known as Ashover rock, with panoramic views over the countryside, with a plinth showing distances to local landmarks.

This is a dead easy cache but stealth will definitely be required as is very popular especially on fine sunny weekends. It is in a small plastic box approx 13*9*3cm.

It can be accessed by various routes, walking up from Ashover village is a good way but the route described below is the quickest.
Park near to the junction of Alton lane and Brownhills lane (it is signposted Alton half a mile) there are spaces for a couple of cars .

Take the footpath directly opposite the junction its only about 150 meters to the cache from here, when near the large rock a number of paths come together, take the right path (W) walk on this path don’t follow your gps arrow to start with , you will see why in a very short distance if you have looked at the clue.

Children should be under close supervision as the rock is very climbable, it can also be very windy.
