Geocache Description:

"Oh, How Times Have Changed!"

This service station is typical of "Full Service Stations" of the 1930's, 40"s, and 50's. It was a very small building with only one or two rooms. The main room served as the "customer center" and office. It had a display case, that served as the customer counter, desk, that served as the office, a few chairs, and a heating stove. If there was a "pop machine", it was probably outside. The other room, if it had one, was used for storage. This station, as you can see, had a rest room added to the back of the building. The original rest room was probably an "out House" out back someplace. All work was done outside. Oil changes, lubes, flat repairs, all mechanical repair, etc, was all done outside. And remember, this was a "Full Service Station" where, when you pulled in, service station attendants, dress in uniforms, came out, fill you car with gas, washed all your windows, checked you oil, water, and tires, all without being asked or charging extra for. These were true "Full Service Stations". Oh, How Time Has Changed! Also, the street in front of the station is part of old State Highway 15. When State Highway was paved, it curved and went down Main Street. The highway did not straight through Woodward on Oklahoma Ave as it does today.
