Geocache Description:

Very easy, side of the road geocache.

The cache is a 12x3x6 metal ammo box and is located behind the granite pillar at the side of the road. The pillar might be slightly hidden by overgrowth.

Carved in the front of the pillar is the date 1884 (and on the sides some odd numbers), and it marks the townline corner border between Northfield and Franklin. The road and area date back to the 1800's and there are many stone walls enclosing what used to be fields and farms. Nearby to this granite marker along the stone wall, I have found horseshoes, skeleton door locks, 5 pitchforks, etc...

The cache contains a logbook and originally contained various outdoorsy and animal-related goodies. Contents updated frequently!

This is our first geocache, so we're very excited!
We plan on putting a trackable item here once we get one, so check back!
