Geocache Description:

Looking for a micro cache well-hidden here.
See updates below!

Christa McAuliffe was a civilian mission specialist aboard the Challenger Space Shuttle, and died with the rest of the seven member crew when Challenger exploded 73 seconds after launch on January 28, 1986. This is the former Sherwood Forest Elementary School. It was renamed to the Christa McAuliffe Center in honor of the first teacher in space. It now serves as a Teacher Resource Center and an adult learning center for East Baton Rouge Parish.
Please do not remover the Cache container from it's hiding spot. Just unscrew the lid!
7/9/2009 update:
Due to the neighbors complaining about the cursing, screaming, ranting & raving going on in the vicinity of the cache Squirt and I will offer a little more help. If you have some specialized equipment it is an easy find! If you have a laser range finder the cache is
  • 117 yards from the main brick building to the north.
  • 117 yards from the brick house to the west
  • 53 yards from the tree to the south-south west.
  • 79 yards from the last pine tree to the south east.

If you have a metal detecter that might also do the trick!
6/6/2010 update #2:
I know it is still there but mother nature has concealed it quite well! I am not going to archive it at this time but look for it at your own risk of going nuts. We have plans to rebuild it.
7/11/2010 Update #3 The cache has been replaced and dropped to a 3 diff!
